Question: I would like to know does it hurt to get a root canal?
Answer: Your dentist will make it so that while he/she is doing the root canal you have little or no pain. Your dentist does not want to hurt you. They will advise you to let them know if do feel any pain so they can numb the area more to stop any pain you may be having. Do not be scared about this process they will make it as easy a possible for you.
Virginia Individual Dental Insurance Coverages for a Root Canal on Molar. About a year ago I was told by a dentist when I went in for cleaning that I would need to have a root canal done on one of my back molars. At the time I really could not afford to have it done so I put it off.
Now I am working full time but still have no dental benefits. I would like to get a dental insurance plan that will over me coverage on a root canal right away. I am starting to have more problems with that tooth so I know I can not continue putting it off. What can you suggest?
California dental care, Broken Tooth may need a root canal. I just broke a corner off my back bottom right side molar. I do not have dental insurance and a few people that I know from work says I may need to have a root canal and more then likely a crown. I know that those types of dental services are costly. I need something that can help me ASAP before my tooth get any worse.
I need to have two root canal done by a specialist. My problem is even though I do have dental insurance I am finding out now it does not cover me to have root canals done by specialist.
My general family dentist told me that do to the tooth being cracked and also having an infection I should be seeing a specialist since he will not be able to help me in this case.

I have been putting my dental care off for a while not do to not having money but I see that was stupid of me since I been pricing out root canal only to find out I really do not have the money for one now. Florida Dental care: I have a back molar that can really use some dental care. It is starting to hurt whenever I eat food on that side of my mouth. I need help but have little money. Is there any low cost plan that can help me if I need a root canal. I worried that is what I may need and do not want to get something that will not help me.
Over the weekend my son had was playing basketball where he was elbowed in the mouth. One of his side teeth got pushed in. He immediately during the game pushed the tooth back into place. However, knowing this happen I took him to the dentist on Monday where I was told he should have a root canal and crown done on that tooth.
I am not sure it this is really necessary, I have dental insurance so it not like it would not be covered I just not sure if he really needs so much work. He says the tooth feels fine and it is not really lose any more. What should I do? Should I get a second opinion? Or just have the dental work done?
I was told by my dentist that I need to have a root canal. Up until now I have always just paid cash for my dental services. Now however, I am told I need to see a specialist for the root canal since my tooth is cracked.
That being the case I do not have enough cash to pay off a specialist and then the required crown after the root canal is done. I need dental Insurance help. What would be the best for me to get for my current dental needs.
I really need your help and advise. I am 24 with a really bad tooth ache. I have not seen the dentist in well a long time. I pretty sure I have at least a cavity issue going on at worse I may even need a root canal which means a crown too. I am not sure since I am not a dentist what I will really need. I only know that there is no way I am able to have any waiting periods for dental service. I really need something that start ASAP I am in that much pain. Can you advise on what type of plan will help me with my current needs. Thanks
Hi I was on your site and I live in California. I was looking at the Golden West dental plan. I need help in understanding the coverages. I know I am going to need a cleaning more then likely a deep cleaning since it has been some time since I last saw a dentist.
I also think filling will be necessary too. I been having issues with two of my teeth. They seem to hurt off and on. Any way when I look at the plan there are a Doz or more filling and I am not sure where to find a deep cleaning. That is the same for a crown there is like seven different cost for crowns. How am I to know what one is needed so I can figure out my cost for those services and compare it to your other plans. Please advise
I need a root canal. What would be the best dental insurance plan to get a root canal done at the lowest possible cost? I was told by my dentist that if I was to look for dental insurance to help me with the cost of the needed root canal that I would need to get a PPO.
Would a PPO offer me the lostest cost on a root canal treatment? What I do know at this point is that I do not have $1200.00 for the root canal. Oh by the way forgot that cost includes a crown so I would also need to have a crown after the root canal was done. Please advise.
I have this tooth that I know I needs to have a root canal. A little over four months ago the dentist I was seeing told me I should have a root canal done on one of my teeth. Since I was moving I put it off. Now the dental insurance I have does not cover for me to see a specialist. I was told that I would need to know the ADA code for an idea of cost. If the root canal can be done by a general dentist I will have some coverage. How do I find out what is the right ADA code so I can check into my policy coverages and how would I know if I have to see a specialist or not?
Who do I call when I have a dentist that lie to me about my dental insurance paying a claim? I had to do a root canal and my dentist at the time told me that my insurance plan would pay 50% of the cost of the root canal. Based on that he said the total cost was $800.00 my cost would have only been $400.00. $400.00 is a lot of money but I was able to get that together to have the root canal he said I needed.
After the fact I am now being charged for $640.00 for the root canal. When I got this bill in the mail instead of $400.00 thought it was some type of error and called the dental office. Where I was told that my insurance plan did not cover as much as they thought it would and so I owe the $640.00.
I called my dental Insurance plan that told me since I went to an Endodontic they do not cover 50% but only 20%. I called the dental office who told me that the dentist in their office that did my root canal was a specialist so that is why the claim got filed that way. I told him this was not what was told to me and I would only pay the $400.00 which I was told.
I am so upset I only did the root canal because of the price they told me I had to pay. I feel I was bate and switched. Since I asked the lady if she was sure of the cost and was told yes because she called my dental insurance to confirm coverage. I am still getting the billing for the difference and do not feel I should have to pay it but they are stating they will put it on my credit report. Who do I call about this?
Round month ago I had a root canal done on my back molar. At the time the dentist only did the root canal and put a temporary crown on after he was done. I was to go back for the finished crown. I had an appointment to go back but I had to put it off since something came up and now my appointment for the crown is in two weeks from now.
The problem is now my temporary crown came off three days ago since I have an appointment to go back to the dentist I did not worry about it and did not bother to call the dentist over it. Now when I was eating I think part of the packing or filling came out of that tooth and I have a whole in my tooth. What will the dentist do now? Will I still get my crown? Should I call the dentist now and get in sooner then my appointment or wait it out? Advise please.
I had a root canal done on one of my back molars. The root canal was done about two months ago. I was to go back in for the crown so I only had a temp crown on. That came off a month latter. Since my appointment to go back was next month I did nothing about it. Now when I was eating something part of tooth with the root canal broke off. Now I have a hole in my tooth. My appoint is in three more days. The dentist was going to put the new crown on. What will he do now? Will I still get my crown?
