Dental 4 Less – What is a missing tooth clause?
A “missing tooth clause” is a pre-existing condition that is typically not covered. This means if the tooth or teeth was missing before your coverage began then the treatment to replace that tooth will not be covered unless other teeth will be removed and replaced. Most often it is the the PPO’s plans that have this type of clause though it can be in any type of dental insurance plan, and not all plan types have this clause. This is a good reason why it is important to read each plans terms and conditions. You would find this clause generally under the plans, limitations and exclusions.
