How Poor Oral Health Damages the Economy.
In the UK, there are over two million people that say they have taken time off of work due to poor oral health. This leads to the UK’s economy being unnecessarily being damaged over the past five years.
Most of the problems that appear in the teeth and gums are preventable with good oral health. About seven percent of the UK’s 29 million workforce have called in sick with dental problems at least once in the past five years. The numbers may increase even more because many people are unaware that poor health can lead to other more serious health problems, including diabetes, heart disease and strokes.
