Dental care, Tooth extraction and now dry socket
So a few days ago I had to have two teeth pulled. I was in a great deal of pain but felt that it was normal since I just had teeth pulled and all. Today day one side of my mouth hurt me so bad where the tooth had been pulled I could not take it anymore and went back to the dentist.
The dentist treated me for dry socket and gave me a prescription for pain killers which as help me some with controlling the pain. What I would like to know is about how long now will I be in pain before my gums heal? Anyone have any idea.

Dry socket is the worse pain. I know I had it one time too. It was after I had five teeth pulled that one did not heal right away. My dentist said that it could have been because of my sucking.
I was in pain so all I had for the first two days were thick shakes found out you do not want to suck hard on anything when you have teeth removed until after they heal. That way they tell people not to smoke.
Anyway it took about four days for me to feel better. It can depend on how fast you normally will heal so figure at least that long.

My girl friend had dry socket and she was in pain for a week. I really felt for her. Make sure to take extra care of your tooth extraction site and have your pain killers handy.
