Comparing Dental Insurance Plans
I am 25 and do not get dental insurance offered to me though work. This is my first time trying to find a plan on my own that will help me with my dental needs. I am not sure what it is I am really looking for nor do I know what would be the best plan for me to get.
How do I go about comparing dental insurance plans if I am not sure what it is I am looking for? Please give me helpful advise on how to compare and buy the right dental plan for me.

I found that you need to be sure you are not talking to a fly by night person on the phone who is not licensed. There seems to be a whole bunch of nuts who use a bait and switch tactic of selling some discount stuff when you wanted to use your own dentist. I checked out dental4less.com and they have licensed insurance who you can talk too.

Jennifer,
In order to know the best dental plan for you regardless of whether it is dental insurance plan or a dental discount plan you need to know what it is that is important to you.
Such as: Are you trying to stay with your own dentist? If so then you need to know if your dentist is a provider of any dental plans or dental insurance. That way you can look for only those plans your dentist takes and not spend time on other plans your dentist does not take.
If it is not about going to your dentist, then you will have more dental insurance and or plans to choose from. Once you take a dental office out of the loop you are only then comparing coverages. You would then what to look for those plans that offer you the best coverages for the dental services you are looking for.
The best advise I can offer is to make sure you read and understand what each plans has to offer you. Knowing what you are buying is key. If you have questions or do not fully understand the plan you are reviewing then call the customer service line available to you.
