Dental services during early pregnancy?

I am two months pregnant and I had a dental appointment in two weeks to have two teeth pull since they were starting to cause some pain.  The dental appointment was set up before I knew I was pregnant.     I have yet to see a doctor which I am making an appointment for, however my question is just how safe is it to have the tooth extracted  during early stage of pregnancy?  I would like to still take care of this dental issue and the thought of going seven months with a bad teeth does not seem like a good idea to me.
