Dental Coverages, What is the ADA code for a Root Canal
I have this tooth that I know I needs to have a root canal. A little over four months ago the dentist I was seeing told me I should have a root canal done on one of my teeth. Since I was moving I put it off. Now the dental insurance I have does not cover for me to see a specialist. I was told that I would need to know the ADA code for an idea of cost. If the root canal can be done by a general dentist I will have some coverage. How do I find out what is the right ADA code so I can check into my policy coverages and how would I know if I have to see a specialist or not?

The only way of knowing the corrected ADA code for the root canal you may need, would be from a dentist. Same goes for whether or not you may need to see an Endodontic/Speclialist
Since you have stated that you have seen a dentist already you may wish to call that dentist to find out the ADA code needed. Although keep in mind a lot can change in four months. That being the case you may need to go back to that dentist for a new valuation.
Here are some basic ADA codes for root canal a general dentist may do.
3310 Root canal, anterior
3320 Root canal, bicuspid
3330 Root canal, molar
